Many sightseeing opportunities are available in the Bluegrass area, which is best known for its horse breeding/racing industry and its bourbon distilleries. Persons coming to the Symposium may wish to take advantage of the many opportunities available to individuals. The Kentucky Horse Park, one of the parks of the Kentucky state park system, is located in Lexington. It offers a variety of museums, galleries, theaters, and working farm exhibits dedicated to information about the horse. On Tuesday evening of the Symposium there will be an Old Kentucky Night at this park (transportation provided).

The Symposium occurs during the Fall Meet of the local flat racing course, Keeneland Race Course. Races are held Wednesday through Sunday afternoons.
