Submission of a paper for the Proceedings Volume is mandatory.
The following must be received at the CAER by August 1, 2001:
- paper for Proceedings Volume
- registration form
- registration fee
- speaker information sheet - RTF
Please note: The above deadline remains firm, even though
the Proceedings volume (CD and book) will not be available until sometime (approximately 6 weeks)
after the Symposium. While we can not promise the Proceedings
volume until a later date (due to staffing considerations), we hope to have
staff available August 1, 2001 to produce it in time for distribution
at the Symposium.
The oral presentations will be in Regency Ballroom on the lobby level
of the Hyatt Regency.
Each presentation: 25 minute talk + 5 minutes for questions/answers.
It is critical that talks stay on schedule so that attendees may go between
sessions at will.
Speaker Guidelines Document in rtf format.
Provided in ballroom:

presentation)
- Presenter must bring own PC compatible laptop (Apple Computers
are not supported)

Provided in AV viewing room for preparation before presentation:

If you choose to use a data projector for your presentation, we strongly
suggest that you bring an alternative format (slides, overhead transparencies)

data projector.

Requests must be made in advance.
Speaker Check-In: Each speaker will check in with the moderator of his/her
session between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. at the Speaker Table located near
the Continental Breakfast buffet.
A tentative session assignment for your presentation is available on this web site.
HINTS FOR DATA PROJECTOR PRESENTATION
- Your presentation must display properly at either 1024 X 768
or 800 x 600 resolution (SVGA or XGA). 1024 x 768 is the maximum
resolution.
- To set the resolution on your laptop:
start menu - settings - control panel - display - settings - "screen
area" should read 1024 x 768 pixels or 800 x 600 pixels.
- You should set your screen saver to "none." This prevents your
screen saver from activating during your presentation.
- Power settings (AC, battery) should be set so that the LCD,
hard disk, etc. does not shut down due to inactivity.
start menu - settings - control panel - power management
- Suggestions to speed your Power Point presentation:
- Your presentation will run faster if it is loaded on your hard
disk (desktop)
- Your presentation will run faster if there are no other programs
running (anti virus software, office start bar, RealPlayer,
etc.) Remove these from your startup folder or change their "preferences"
or "options" to not start when Windows starts.
REMEMBER TO PUT YOUR NAME ON YOUR LAPTOP AND YOUR POWER CORD !
