Department of Energy SYMPOSIUM DESCRIPTION The 2001 International Ash Utilization Symposium will be a forum for the transfer of information and new ideas to benefit the innovative utilization, handling, storage and disposal of coal combustion by-products. Both oral presentations and posters from academia, industry and government will be included. It is anticipated that there will be 300 attendees from throughout the world. The symposium welcomes unsolicited presentations for consideration. Topic areas include but are not limited to:
SYMPOSIUM HIGHLIGHTS Dates: October 22-24, 2001 Cost: $290.00 (before Sept. 4, 2001), $375.00 (on or after Sept 4, 2001). Presentations: More than 100 oral and poster presentations are anticipated. Exhibits: Various equipment vendors and service providers will display products and services in the exhibit area. Social Events:
Barton A. Thomas Memorial Award: A panel of judges will choose the most outstanding technical paper of the Symposium to receive this honor which consists of a plaque and cash award. Proceedings Volume: There will be both a book version and a CD-ROM version of the Proceedings which will be mailed to registrants approximately 6 weeks after the Symposium. TO APPLY FOR A PRESENTATION PLEASE INCLUDE: 1) IDENTIFYING INFORMATION and 2) AN ABSTRACT Abstracts (250 word maximum) are required by March 1, 2001. See abstract guidelines below. Notification of acceptance will be mailed by April 2, 2001. If accepted, abstracts will be posted on the Symposium web site. A limited amount of space is available for exhibitors to display products and services. Full papers must be received by August 1, 2001 to be included in the Proceedings and Papers volume of the 2001 International Ash Utilization Symposium. Papers should conform to the following guidelines:
